Specialist Jacob Lowell

Specialist Jacob Lowell was a paratrooper, serving in Afghanistan in 2007. When Jacob’s patrol came under fire on June 2, 2007, he was almost instantly hit, but continued providing life-saving fire support instead of receiving medical attention.

Jacob was killed in action while saving other members of his patrol. To honor his memory and support the living, retired U.S. Army Colonel Christopher Kolenda is riding 1,700 miles cross country to visit his gravesite in Elwood, Illinois and to raise awareness and funds for his unit’s veterans and families who need help.
